Salisu Mohammed’s ”Poor” Display Against Brentford, Criticise By Southampton Fans

Ghana defender Salisu was heavily criticized by Southampton fans after the Saints lose 3-0 to Brentford in the Premier League at Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday.

Poor defending from the visitors allowed Brentford to score an easy opener through Pontas Jansson in the 13th minute before Democratic Republic of Congo international Yoane Wissa made it 2-0 just a minute later.

Brentford killed off the game 11 minutes from time when Kristoffer Ajer capitalized on yet another defensive mistake from the Saints, Salisu allowing him through on goal, to the disappointment of their fans.

Below are some of the criticism from Southampton fans:

Just abominable defending, and quite simply not Premier League level. These two centre-backs, no matter their potential (in Salisu’s case) have been abysmal over the last few months.

Salisu has been crap ever since rumours linked him to a black stars return

Bednarek and Salisu left on the ground. Brentford walk straight through and Wissa scores from the edge of the area. Wow. #SaintsFC

Who is the easiest defender to get past in the Premier League? Mohammed Salisu

However, some fans feel Salisu had a good game but was only let down by his partner Bednarek.

Mo Salisu has lost all his confidence….. why? Jan Bednarek. The club SERIOUSLY needs to focus on replacing him, and bring in a confident partner for Mo!

In the last 10 games, Southampton has conceded 24 goals, scoring eight. They have managed only one victory in the last two months.
